What a week it's been! First of all, I want to thank Patrick and Deann for working so hard to get the site up this week and being on their toes helping you all with CS issues.
Secondly, I want to thank the designers here at {WST} for bringing such unique, beautiful products to the site. It's been such a pleasure working with everyone!
Lastly, I want to thank all of you for sticking with us when we had problems and for hangin around the blog and getting the correct information out to everyone on what was going on.
But!...........we're open and that's the most important thing!
Now, if you'll remember, last week I asked for you all to inspire us with your beautiful pages and the top three would be featured here on the blog today. There were a lot of gorgeous pages and it was so hard to pick the top layout from each category.
So without further ado...here are the top three layouts from the art, photography and journaling categories.
Art:
This layout by Trina is so neat! I love the way she combined digital items with her photograph and then used that photo to scrap a layout about her space! Thanks Trina for your artistic inspiration!
Photography:
This layout featuring photography by Steph is gorgeous. I love the colors of her photographs and the natural feel she brought from the photos to the layout. It's a beautiful page. Thanks Steph for your photography inspiration!
Journaling:
Now, this layout is really something special. When it was posted, many of us here at {WST} shed tears. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place. For me, this is what journaling is all about, and it's what I hope to strive for in each of my layouts. It's about making the reader feel how you felt at the time. Becky, you did a fantastic job conveying your thoughts and emotions here. I don't doubt that when reading this, your family will feel all the love you have for them.
Here's Becky's layout and journaling:
Why do I fight against breast cancer? I fight because I am your mom, because I carried you and waited for you and prayed for you. I fight because I saw your first steps and I want to see your babies’ first steps. I fight because I want to worry over you when you get your first car. I fight so I can help you paint your first house. I fight so I can cry with you and laugh with you, rejoice with you and celebrate with you. I fight partly because I am selfish, because I want to see you grow up and see you both become the men that God wants you to be. I want to see you become best friends and take care of each other. I fight because I don’t want you to have to know the pain of losing your mama. I fight for you, Micah, because I am your wife. I fight because we haven’t grown old together yet. I fight because there are still so many things to learn about each other. I fight because we are best friends and there is no one I would rather spend my days with. I fight because I want us to teach our grandkids about France. I fight because I can’t imagine the pain of losing you and I don’t want to inflict that pain on you. I fight for our family because there is a special joy in being together. I fight because I love to sit down to a meal together. I fight because I love the three of you more than life itself. You are and have been God’s amazing gift to me. I couldn’t ask for a more loving husband, for more loving boys. Looking back on life, I could never have imagined how full my life would be because of you. Because of you, I fight with all I have against this disease. I fight to have time with you to love, to laugh, and to be. February 17, 2008
Thanks to the three of you for taking the time to submit to our mini-challenge here on the {WST} blog!
Before I go today, I also want to stop and spotlight a gorgeous hybrid project using the product from our awesome designers here at {WST}. This adorable CD/DVD holder was made by Chere Nordstrand. If you follow THIS LINK you will find instructions, templates and information on how to make your OWN CD/DVD holder using {WST} products.
Thanks for coming over to the blog today. We hope you have a wonderful weekend. And remember...don't just scrap....INSPIRE!
